First Journal how to build a garden

How to Build a Garden
This article will explain how we built a community garden at school. The purpose of our garden is to work as a community with other students. We work together in one group and to plant the garden to do our senior project.
First, we together in Mrs. Beymer class talk about what to plant in our garden, and we research it in the paper that Mrs. Rodriguez and Mrs. Beymer give to us in class. Our plants are Collard greens, rutabaga, arugula, turnip, romaine lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, mustard, and kale.

We measure the bed size

Second, we draw out the garden bed size, and talk out together and figure out how long is our bed size; the bed size is 7 ft. long and 3 ft. wide, 5 ft. apart. And we go out side to measure our garden bed.

Then, we go outside again next with Mrs. Wright’s class and Football player from weight training class to dig our garden. It took two days to finish our garden dig.

Next, when we finish the dig, Mrs. Rodriguez does the drill the wood boards, and some student help out to hold the wood. We got five wooden beds. When we finish with five garden beds, we go to put the dirt in the garden bed. We got dirt from the truck and in the bag. Each garden bed we mix nine dirt bag and some dirt from the truck.

After that, we plants our first plant is call broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and romaine lettuce.
Finally, we plants our last vegetable, is called collard greens, rutabaga, spinach, arugula, turnip, mustard, and kale. And water our  plants. I was really likes happy to work with other student that most I don’t know. And work with teacher are good and fun.

Journal two observations and measurements in the garden

Second Journal

Today is September 22, we was outside the school to look at our plants. We go to measure our plants, how tall it has grown. We just measure one for each plant, I measure Cauliflower in first bed, and the size was 4 inches for Cauliflower, the second bed was Red Romaine lettuce 5 inches, the third bed was Arugula ½ inches, and spinach ½ inches in third bed. Our plants have grown; Red Romaine was not red when we Trans plant it, now it turns redder that we can really see. The seed we plant have been growing and turn to sprout, spinach, Arugula, and other plant have growing. Now our garden looks prettier when it has green leaf in bed garden. First time when we go see the plants the dirt was dry, the day was hot, and we water our plants. Innocent open the water and Vincent water the plants.
